Exactly what i needed by robbyg, 23 December 2013, 13 out of 13 people found this review helpful Bought for a daily commute from home to station approx 2.5mile each way in all weather, wearing a suit. Fitted to a very old racer, ridden hard. Qualioty: Having read some other reviews i was apprehensive about quality and ease of installation / set up. The quality is fine. Yes they are abit plasticy, but that means they flex when squashed in the bike racks at the station. Definitely fit for purpose. The end cap for the supports came off when i kicked it by accident, i might glue it on. Installation: Yes they are tricky and fiddly but by no means impossible. If you can competently set up your own brakes and gears for yourself then these will be fine. If you pay a bike shop to do that basic stuff fr you then pay them to do this too. Performance: I have used these daily (UK) for approx 3 months now. I am very pleased. I go though inch deep puddles at full speed and my trousers stay completely dry. Some splashing of my shoes, but that is straight from the tyre where it hits the road, not thrown up so no mud gauge could help that. No wetness at all on my upper body either. Does what it says on the packet by veloaficionado, 1 January 2014, 5 out of 5 people found this review helpful While they don’t have all the bells and whistles of their more expensive stablemates, these guards do what they’re meant to – keep the muck off. The stainless steel double rod stays are idiot-proof if not elegant (single rear set of stays, not double), the chromoplastic sandwich construction is there, like most SKS guards. They don’t have stainless steel cap screw or washers in the fixing kit (chrome plated), but strangely enough, the nuts supplied (not nyloc, but they have what look like rust-prone serrated lock washers) are SS, so I wonder why that is. A nice duck bill mudflap on both guards doesn’t hit your feet, and for the price, they’re great Pros: good value reliable sks quality Cons: possibly rust-prone fixings I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
