Only useful if you like wet feet and a dirty bike by besiix, 28 January 2018, 6 out of 7 people found this review helpful If you’re looking for mudguards that will stop you getting wet from the knees up – these are perfect! If you’re looking for mudguards that will protect your bikes vital drivetrain from the oil and muck on the roads, these are useless. I’ve ridden with these on my CAAD12 for two weeks, around 100km. The roads have been typical British wet roads during this period. Not soaking, not raining, just wet. I’ve attached a photo of the state of my bike after one 30km commute through Sheffield. As you can see, the important parts of the bike (chain, brakes, headset, bottom bracket) are all covered in muck, and my shoes covers are equally as bad. Other than my face being spread a lot, the rest of my upper body is dry, which is a plus. But I bought these to protect the bike, not me. Also, because of the way they attach, which I initially thought was genius, they have rubbed through the paint and protective coating on my forks. I would not recommend these for any carbon forked bikes. In SKS defence, I had a feeling that a half rear mudguard would not be able to protect the bottom bracket from getting soaked, but I at least thought my feet and brakes would be okay. All in all, I can not recommend these unless you want a wet face, wet shoes, mucky bike, but a clear and dry bum! I’ve attached a photo of my bike after a 30km ride so you can see where is protected from the spray, and the state of my forks after 100km. Pros: light easy to attach dry from knee to neck easy to remove Cons: wet face from front spray wet feet carbon forks ruined no drivetrain protection can move easily even when tight I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Keeps the muck off you, but not really off your drivetrain by Hubes, 12 November 2017, 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful I‰Ûªve used them for several short, 20 km rides in which the roads were wet and the air was misty with the occasional bit of rain. I have very mixed feelings about this product. On the one hand, they are the usual, bombproof SKS quality (complete with the cryptic installation instructions). Once you spend the 20-30 minutes to get them just right, then it‰Ûªs a matter of a minute or two to get them on when you need them. On the other hand, they are truly a racing fender, so they don‰Ûªt offer full coverage. They do enough to keep the grit from spraying onto your legs and face, while your bum is free of the dreaded rat-tail. However rear wheel continues to bathe your drivetrain and bottom bracket in road grit. For the cost, you‰Ûªre really paying for the stiffness and durability which keeps the fender from rubbing the tire even over the potholes (I haven‰Ûªt tested them off road). Compared with most other options that fit road bikes, these are heavy but will last more than 1 or 2 seasons, but just keep in mind that they are not giving you complete coverage. Pros: sks quality goes on quick once set up keeps most of you dry Cons: sks price unclear instructions I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
