Not suitable for 650b Flow EX rims with TR tyres by Rich165, 7 January 2016, 2 out of 2 people found this review helpful This was bought to go with my shiny new 650b flow ex rims and a set of Maxxis High Roller II TR EXO tyres. Upon trying to fit the tyres onto the rim it became obvious they were not going to go. Looking at the problem, the rubber strips are just too thick and make it impossible to fit even one side of these tyres on the rim. I ordered a set of stans MTB valves and some 1″ rim tape, needless to say the tyres fittet well (tight, but a good fit) and the beads popped nicely. I’m glad to say they did not lose any air in the last month. Pros: good system in general Cons: not suitable for flow ex rims expensive for what you get I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Great Product & Easy To Install by Pomsteroonie, 31 October 2016, 1 out of 1 people found this review helpful Was really impressed with this product from Stan’s. The instructions are ok, not the best but there are heaps of excellent YouTube videos for reference if like me, you’re new to tubeless tyres.. My one word of warning would be to check your rims (even if your rims are tubeless ready) as I have Stan’s No Tubes rims and the instructions say to leave the existing rim tape on your rims, I found that when doing this, the rim strip you add from kit which has the integrated valve made the tyre sit a little high so when I inflated the whole thing, the rim strip got caught between the rim and the tyre – this did not affect the usage but did make me strip everything down and start again but it was the same second time around, so be mindful of that. I also found the tyres featured a few uneven bulges but I pumped them up to 48 PSI and left them for a few hours (they didn’t blow off the rim, as the instructions say not to inflate above 40 PSI) and the tyre evened out nicely after a while. Once they were all uniform, I let the pressure out and am running them around 27PSI which is perfect. All in all an excellent kit and a real bargain but make sure you have some hardcore tyre levers as the bead on the tyres can be super-stiff even when using soap water to help them onto the rims.
