Overpriced for what you get by desperatedave, 29 May 2015, 43 out of 53 people found this review helpful Seriously do not use stans tubeless kit just buy a bottle of stans sealant and use inner tubes to go ghetto. The rim strip that was supplied in the stans kit was too narrow for my 25mm wheels even though it states it was ok for up to 25.5mm and this meant I really struggled to inflate, even with air compressor, and ended up accidentally breaking the valve which then rendered the rim strip useless! I basically paid å£25 for two useless rim strips which are actually narrow strips of rubber that look just like, hmmmm, cut down inner tubes!. Bought 24″ inner tubes from local bs for å£5.99 each and ghetto’do them onto my 650b wheels, didn’t even have to put any effort in on the inflation managed it with a track pump. Suggest check you tube on how to ghetto – need 20″ inner tubes to ghetto 26″ wheels 24″ inner tubes to ghetto 27.5 and 29″ wheels. Cheaper and in my experience more reliable and much less effort needed to inflate (and more satisfying to have done it yourself!) I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Quick easy and inexpensive upgrade to tubeless. by alduffy, 21 February 2014, 15 out of 20 people found this review helpful I’d been looking to go tubeless on my new 650b shod bike but was struggling to find ready to go tubeless rims in the right price range and there didn’t seem to be a 650b tubeless kit to order either, so a quick call to CRC and I was assured that this kit would fit my existing rims and tyres with no issues. The kit arrived promptly and was installed with minimal fuss. I was able to complete both wheels within 1/2 hour and there was no problem to inflate with a track pump. My tips: Liberally brush the rim/tyre interface with soapy water. A splash of fairy liquid into a half cup of water and applied with a pastry brush worked for me. Inflate the tyre once without the sealant and once you’ve got it sealed, then deflate and open a small section of the bead to add the sealant. Pros: inexpensive. easy to install.
