Recommended upgrade from Cantis by Anonymous, 23 April 2012, 6 out of 6 people found this review helpful Fitted these to a Giant TCX2 cyclocross (being used as a commuter). Braking is massively improved, no more squealing. Much safer for rainy commuting. A good, cheap upgrade if you don’t need the mud clearance. The only real niggle is for use with mudguards. I have 28mm schwabe marathon plus and 35mm SKS chromoplastic mudguards. The tyre-guard clearance is only 1-2mm. Increasing the clearance menas the brake rubs on the top of the mudguard. Not a major issue for this tyre size (and marathon pluses are taller than most tyres), but anything bigger (or with more tread) won’t fit. If I was buying tyres again I’d go with 25mm. One last point – it would be handy if the sides were swappable (i.e. reversible noodle – this would give neater cable routing with cross-top brake levers) but this is a minor preference thing. Best upgrade ever by Muthagully, 10 September 2014, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful Great stopping power. Ordered one for the back of my trusty Kona jake after already upgrading with much more expensive cantis. There is a fair bit of fresh air in lever then solid braking. a little skid prone at the beginning but you get used to them. No squeal or judder like Cantis. I use kool stops with them. Very easy to install and can still run 28s + mud guards. They are now better than ultegra calipers on my “good” bike. You might need different shape noodle than one provided. They use less cable than Cantis so you can trim cable just above where it was attached to canti. I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
