Nice brakes! by phidauex, 29 September 2016, 15 out of 16 people found this review helpful I got these not knowing what I’d receive from a somewhat new branch of a discount products company (Tektro), but having read some good reviews I went for it. Having installed and ridden them for a week now, I can say I’m pretty impressed. The levers have good action and modulation, and a comfortable shape. They have a smooth reach adjuster with a lot of throw (the default reach is quite long). Installation was straightforward. It is worth noting that they do NOT include any spare fittings for shortening the line, even though the instructions imply that it does. I cut my line to shorten it, and THEN realized that it didn’t have the parts included… Silly me for not checking, I had just gotten used to Shimano and everyone else including a few barbs and olive fittings in the box. Had to purchase the ~$15 bleed kit for Tektro, which worked fine. It is also worth noting that, when ordering from Chain Reaction, right-hand levers come with a short hose for the front brake, and left-hand levers come with a long hose for the rear brake. This is what I wanted, but other customers from the US may get caught by surprise.
