Into the bin with it, and on with the Velox. The lightly adhesive backed cloth material, goes on easy and stays in place. The 19mm covers the spoke hole space nicely. Does the Biz by Anonymous, 11 July 2011, 7 out of 9 people found this review helpful How good it is depends on what you use your bike for. On my road commuter, I like Velox tape. It’s easy to apply, and stays put once in place. On my MTB bike I use a PVC rim tape. Riding through rivers like I do, water tends to get inside the wheel. Changing tubes out on the trail, and inevitably water and muck gets into the wheel. Once the cloth gets wet it gets nasty and takes ages to dry – it doesn’t rot, but the adhesive is tacky rather than sticky, and once it comes unstuck, the tape is screwed. A PVC tape can be wiped clean, and taken off the wheel if needs be. A PVC tape can move around, which means it is critical to get the right size for your rim, otherwise it will move around.
