great work horse by kellyllek, 1 June 2018, 4 out of 4 people found this review helpful I’ve knocked out 2000 miles on this bike so far. I’m using it for commuting, road riding, and MTB. I put on some BrenDog Flats to help learn skills. This thing is a beast! I’ve naturally replaced the chain and cassette. I would have gotten more out of the cassette. It’s got a weird chainring spec of 82BCD. FSA is about to launch a 34t. that will fit it, and there are aftermarket brands making them. With all the road riding i’m doing I’d love to get a 38t, but I don’t think anything more than a 34t will fit with the ideal chain line. This bike is taking the place of an S-Works Epic for pretty much everything while I save the S Works for events. . I put some hexlocs on the wheels, stem and seatpost so I only have to lock the frame. Compared to the S-Works its about 10lb heavier and literally 1/10th the price! I’m 5’10” and got a large as I love the longer layout on the road. But for skills and such I should have gone with a M. I haven’t’ ridden in much muck but still have done hundreds of miles in the rain. I’m pleased and surprised the brakes and pads are still good, especially with all the quick stops of city riding. My aim is to take it out to the Surrey Hills and do a dialed-down version of “Slice of British Pie” (search youtube). i really dig the bike. In retrospect with the big tyres and wanting to learn to bunny hop and wheelie and all, a Medium size would have been better, or even a 650b Sentier. And having been spoilt on Full Sus I’d probably have gotten that if I could have swung some extra toward the bike. But this hardtail is really helping me feel more confident and trying to stay connect to the flats on the bumpy trail. It’s probably better to learn on a less-forgiving hardtail anyway. So no regrets really; I hope to have 5000 miles on it by the end of the year. 🙂 Should note; I haven’t’ changed a tube or tyre. Tyres have worn great, even with a ton of skidding on the streets. But realy MTB tyres wear way more on the trail than the road, which many think is the opposite. I’ve been riding tubeless for over a decade so compared to the carbon wheels of the S Works the Sentier wheels are feel like I’m riding a tractor! I like to say “The Sentier is 10lb heavier than the S-Works, and 12lb of that is in the wheels!” 🙂 Pros: quality and relativley affordable brakes and shifters great. rear mech great; no dropped chains. fork is good (in comparison to my fox stepcast!) overall feel is great I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful

Excellent value very well equipped good design by ShanefromOregon, 28 April 2018 I have been looking for a nimble 29 design for some time. This bike is perfect design, very well equipped. Took it for first ride today and performs well up and down hill. Better than expected. Bike shipped very quick. Took about 5 minutes to put together everything dialed right out of the box. Even seat is decent. Should have ordered one size smaller, I am 6’2″ and got large. I like BMX handling so would have preferred a little tighter, but that is my fault. Handles great and looks great. Only upgrade I would recommend would be a carbon seat post to give a little cush on rear end. Pros: good parts for money. great frame design Cons: size is a little large I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
