Double sided perfection at a bargain price by Anonymous, 6 March 2011, 8 out of 8 people found this review helpful I wanted some single sided SPDs with a flat flipside for my road bike (so I can jump on in trainers if I’m just popping to the shops etc) and decided to take a chance on these lesser known pedals in favour of Shimano A530s or similar. Apart from the superb price of å£20.95, it was the “flat” side that lured me in. I use studded flats on my MTB and I know how grippy studs are, so these Wellgos seemed the perfect for me. I couldn’t find much info other than the Wellgo site and one review here but decided to give them a whirl. And in word… fantastic. They are, as suspected, super grippy on the studded side (I had read A530s can be a bit slippy) and the cleats clip in and out with the greatest of ease. They’ve firm underfoot and both sides are spot on. If you’re in the market for flat/SPDs or are looking to get into clipless but want the backup of a usable flatside you just can’t go wrong. I would buy these again in a flash. Wonderful. The brushed silver looks pretty snazzy on the bike too (or “trick” or whatever word I should be using these days) 😉 I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
Light and well made but poor seals by Anonymous, 14 January 2013, 4 out of 5 people found this review helpful Lovely pedals which are reasonably light bearing in mind the size of the flat and look really good too. the flat side has aggressive metal studs which really hold your feet in place well if wearing trainers or shoes, and the clip in side works perfectly, if you want a pair of this type of pedal then I would definitely consider these, the shimano version don’t have sealed bearings and weigh considerably more. The only issue I had with mine was after 100 miles the left pedal rubber seal came away and the pedal dumped its grease all over the office floor so had to replace them as without grease seal bearings would fail, crc customer service was amazing in sorting this out for me, service second to none.
