Nice rack by Anonymous, 7 August 2012, 20 out of 23 people found this review helpful Bought 3 of these for the garage after trying (unsuccessfully) to cram and wedge my mountain bike tyres into a mottez 5-bike stand. The X-tool hook is easy to put up (4 holes, screws and masonry wall plugs supplied), and accomodates the widest of my tyres: 2.2 Continental Race Kings, which I think are big for 2.2s. I staggered the height of the hooks so I could overlap handlebars to minimise space, so I can get 3 mountain bikes in about 1.5m width (left edge handlebar on bike 1 to right edge of handlebar bike 3). My only criticism is that the hook isn’t very forgiving if it isn’t exactly vertical – it means that the bike will end up hanging with a bit of a “kink” rather than straight down. Not the product’s fault, more a problem with me being able to drill 4 holes accurately into garage breeze blocks. To finish the job I added vertical lengths of grey 76mm guttering to the wall to help hold the back wheels in place, in case the bikes get knocked. Good but narrow wheels/tyres only by TAFKAB, 7 March 2014, 9 out of 11 people found this review helpful I bought this wall rack this week as I’ve started riding downhill and wanted my DH bike on the wall. I opted for this rack as it seemed to offer good value and looked decent quality. I thought the way I’d mounted my trail and road bikes in the past might be a bit flimsy for a near 40lb lump. Don’t get me wrong, this is a really good piece of kit. The fittings are good quality and it’s very sturdy. However, unfortunately though neither of my mountain bikes wheels would fit. I run 2.5s on my DH bike and I’m currently on Maxxis Beaver 2.25s x 29 on my trail bike. Despite chopping around an inch off the loop of the hook, neither wheel and tyre got anywhere close to fitting underneath. All isn’t lost though, it holds my droppy 700c x 25 wheel and tyre nice and snugly. Consider the above when buying,especially if you’re a mountain biker. Pros: sturdy and well made Cons: won’t cope with normal sized mountain bike tyres I found this review helpful I did not find this review helpful
